The perinatal period is one of the most vulnerable seasons of life, and working with perinatal clients carries its own special set of wonders, paradoxes, and challenges. As therapists, we are called to approach our clients with empathy and compassion, while also ensuring that we are caring for our own needs for reflection and professional support.

In Group Supervision, you will have the chance to connect with other perinatal therapists, expand your repertoire of helpful clinical tools, and explore the specific nature of therapeutic work during pregnancy and the postpartum period. Our conversations will deepen your clinical knowledge and expertise, but also provide a reflective space. Together we will explore the many ways our work inevitably affects us, and how we can respond to our own experiences as therapists in intentional, transparent, and collaborative ways that enhance our work with the clients we serve.

Fall 2024 and Winter 2025 Group Sessions

Fourth Tuesday of every month (no session in December) from 1pm to 2:30pm
Fall Sessions: September 24, October 29, November 26
Winter Sessions: January 28, February 25, and March 25
Spring Sessions from April to June 2025 TBA
Virtual Sessions on Zoom
$75 per session, $450 for all Fall and Winter sessions
Option to pay two separate $225 payments for Fall and Winter sessions
Payable before Sept 24 via credit card on Jane or etransfer (payment plans available upon request)
Up to 8 participants maximum

Group Facilitator:

Eleni Opperwall, MSW, RSW

Eleni is a perinatal therapist in private practice in Hamilton, Ontario.

15 years of experience in clinical therapy
Member in good standing of OCSWSSW
Meets criteria for CRPO Clinical Supervisor standards and can provide Clinical Supervision Attestation Form upon request
Trained in EMDR with Perinatal Clients
Canadian Certification in Birth and Reproductive Trauma (CC-BRT) and Perinatal Mental Health (CC-PMH)
